You've Got To Be Kidding Me

You've got to be kidding. Can someone please tell these people that they can't be in one place at the same time?

Crap

I should be studying right now. I don't know shit about Spanish. My, we covered so much crap this trimester that I can't remember.

After reading a random post on a random board (someone was frustrated they couldn't apply for a student finance), I really see people's stupidity. Er, I know that board is a Radiohead board and Radiohead shows are awesome and all, but why don't you just cancel your European Radiohead trip and use that money, as you stated in your post? And, why would you even plan on going to a bunch of festivals in the first place if you don't have money to pay for college? People are just stupid. I'm very sorry that there has to exist "OMG guyses you're all so sweet and all we should have a hot chocolate party" kind of artsy chubby women who dress in cardigans and "romantic" skirts and go to art schools because they aren't good at anything else and still can't find jobs after graduation. Oh my, I hate them. Why can't you stop being excessively sweet and dressing in overpriced autumn-colored tweed dresses from Anthropologie or a random seller on Etsy? How about stopping listening to mediocre "indie" music that sounds nothing different from mainstream ballad and declaring yourself indie just because you claim to like bearded men?

your typical artsy chubby woman

Even Emo kids aren't as appalling to me as these women. Call me lookist, but I think you deserve to be looked down upon if you are overweight and still have to crave greasiest steaks or whatever. And that's exactly what these people do. Now I have to be an opportunist cunningly adjusted to capitalist society and go study to get into fucking Harvard. Capitalism isn't that bad after all, I guess.

Random Thoughts

1. Saw Nine Inch Nails (and Street Sweepers Social Club and Jane's Addiction) on Sunday, with a bunch of friends. A teacher drove us there. Likey. Apparently Lakewood NIN Will Call ticket box office was a clusterfuck. There are two entrances at Lakewood and one had all the tickets and the other did not. And tickets had to be brought one by one from the right gate to the wrong gate. Fortunately, I was at the right gate and got my ticket in 10 seconds. I went in and realized that I had front row tickets. Yay! I had a row G so I thought it was 7th row... It wasn't. I got a great view of the stage. Man it was awesome. Trent Reznor is apparently the hottest man in the world. SSSC and JA were fantastic too, the thing is that I hadn't heard their stuff before the show.

2. AP exams. Screw. Won't even talk about it.

3. I think it might be cool if I can keep a "book of expressions" and write down some expressions that I didn't know before whenever I hear/read them.

Standardized Testing

Yes, I am taking the SAT Chemistry tomorrow. And I've just done my history paper. (I've written one whole page on Radiohead. In a paper about Britpop. Brilliance.)

I seriously think the SAT Chemistry is way harder than AP Chemistry. See, I get 5's every time I take a practice test. Maybe not a solid 5, but about high 4's and low 5. Fuck SAT. I don't want to study.

A Great Keynes Quote

If you owe your banker a thousand pounds, you are at his mercy.
If you owe your banker a million pounds, he is at your mercy.

Ahh, gotta love Keynes.

The Little Mermaid

Wow, it's been a while. Happy New Year.

Anyway, I was going to write about The Little Mermaid and some other fairy tales. I never watched it on one extended sit-through and I never liked it, although I quite like the story(Andersen's). But that witch doesn't deserve that. All she did was give the mermaid legs and take her voice instead. Fair trade. Service and goods in exchange for the demand of the provider. Ariel cannot take legs for free because the witch also has wants.

Another thing is now that I think about it again, it was a very sad and cruel ending. I mean, no one wants to remain a spirit forever. That'll be the shittiest thing. Death is death and it exists because it is a vital(damn, need a better choice of word) element to life. And it's not like Ariel lives in physical body, meaning no happiness that I can think of may occur. Because I am so earthly like that. It will be a boring life.

Next in line is The Red Shoes. I mean, what kind of fairy tale is that? I, as a teenager used to some violence, quite like the story. But I frankly have no idea how I read it and had no impression when I was four. I can't believe it's not yet to be adopted into a horror film. It will be a legend if someone manages to pull out a beautiful, repeat, BEAUTIFUL image.

I read a book, about 3-4 years ago, about how all the fairy tales are based on true stories and it actually had historical accounts in it. It was the scariest thing ever. Hansel and Gretel is basically real. I can't remember any details, but it was about recipes and stuff. And do you remember the story about a good girl getting gold poured onto her and her evil sister getting tar poured onto her? That is real. The historical evidence was so shocking that I still remember most of it. It was a monk's account on a girl who came to the monastery covered in tar(I believe she never could wash it away).
